Most of our cotton knit shorts come in XXS to XL. Knitwear is not only for cold weather: knit shorts bring the softness and texture of a sweater into a shape you can wear when it is warm, at home, on slow days out, or under a long cardigan when the evening cools.

Slim or relaxed?

Slim styles sit close to the body and relaxed shapes leave more room in the leg, so choose by how much ease you want rather than by name. Either way the yarn has give and the waistband is soft, so the shorts hold you gently rather than tightly.

What are our knit shorts made of?

Our cotton knit shorts are knitted from cotton and 40% recycled nylon, and the wool styles from 50% wool and 50% recycled nylon. Every product page lists the exact fabric composition, and our materials page explains how we choose what we knit with.

Building a knit set

Pair them with one of our knit tank tops for a simple two-piece, or add a sweater when you want more coverage on top. A knit cardigan gives a softer, more relaxed layer over either. Sizes and care

Most styles come in XXS to XL, and some go up to XXL or XXXL. Wash knit shorts cold on a gentle cycle, reshape them while damp, dry them flat and skip the tumble dryer.
